I’m part of the community eagerly awaiting the release of your upcoming game, and I wanted to bring up an important request that I believe will enhance the experience for many players.
As you may know, Ukraine has a passionate and growing gaming community. However, the game currently lacks support for the Ukrainian language, which limits accessibility for a significant portion of your potential audience.
By including Ukrainian language support, you’ll be making the game more inclusive and enjoyable for Ukrainian players. It’s a relatively small addition that can have a huge impact, allowing more players to fully immerse themselves in your game and feel truly represented.
I know this community values inclusivity and strives to create the best possible experience for all players. Supporting the Ukrainian language is a great step towards that goal.
Thank you for considering this request!
Please consider adding Ukrainian to this game as well—as a long-time Kurzgesagt fan watching them "before it was cool" since they had <1M subs, it would warm my heart to be able to enjoy their venture into the games industry in my native language
In October 2014, the Constitutional Court started reviewing the constitutionality of the 2012 law and declared it unconstitutional on 28 February 2018.
In April 2019, the Ukrainian parliament voted a new law, the law “On supporting the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the State language”.
The law made the use of Ukrainian compulsory (totally or within quotas) in more than 30 spheres of public life, including public administration, electoral process, education, science, culture, media, economic and social life, health and care institutions, and activities of political parties.
France has similar laws that make French compulsory in some areas of government & education. However France still allows multilingual support for other languages.
The 2019 Ukrainian language law, officially known as “On Protecting the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language”, introduced some restrictions on the use of other languages.
The law prohibits actions aiming to introduce multilingualism at the official level (granting any other language besides Ukrainian official status) and views these attempts as unconstitutional.
