Achievements make no sense
Why are almost all achievements given for stupid grind? You have to repeat the exact same levels 100x times or more to get them. Repeating DEMO levels all over again... Why would anyone do this?

If the main game will do the same, I'll never buy it. Or anything from it's developer. Sorry, but this is such a lazy move from you :v

I love this kind of "threat". Do you think devs are hard at work changing the game to your whim just so you don't put them on your blacklist? Xd

No, but I hope if they see more of threads like this they'll patch it or do it better while working on the next project.

This is...an interesting way to get your message across.
While I question the delivery, I can't argue against the logic.

So, to open the floor to you (and anyone else), do you have any suggestions for better achievements that you'd like to see? It would be cool to know what sort of direction you/everyone else, would think would be best.

. Achievement "First Step to Greatness"
Lose for the first time." - doesn't work. You have to lose the level to complete it, right?
. “Deplete 50 times”, “Kill 5000/10000 enemies” is also not yet clear. It is not visible that the scale is filled, like with other achievements.
. How to throw away items? I completed the prologue and then repeated each level several times. I have the following statistics for subjects:
helmet: 3 rare + 9 uncommon + 14 common = 26 total
Spear: 3 rare + 9 uncommon + 14 common = 26 total
Sword: 1 rare + 6 uncommon + 15 common = 22 total
Shield: 2 rare + 2 uncommon +15 common = 19 total

The rest of the achievements are doable, but it's worth lowering the requirements because there's a lot of grinding in the prologue. You'll get so tired that you won't want to go through the sequel.

Achievments should be able to be done " on the way " and or for doing hard things, but not for grind 1000 hours. This things make people not buy games, because they know from the first second this will never going to be a 100% game - so no buy. Welcome to 2024.

Give that man a cookie!

Me right now:

Beat a level only with your spear
Beat a level only with archers/cavarly/etc. and your spear
Beat a level in under XX seconds/minutes
Beat a level calling every wave early
Kill Ajax with a barrell

Just make sure it's possible to do it this way

Awesome, thanks for the detailed feedback here.
The funny part is that we do have in-game missions that follow that type of quest. The thought pattern here was that it would be better to have different types, but, it seems (based on the reactions) that maybe that was a bad call.

So, we'll be re-visiting the achievements, hopefully, we'll be able to make something that you'll all enjoy!

The biggest issue is the stupid grind you demand of players. Have you finished your own demo? Check how many enemies have you killed, how many units have you send to the battlefield, how many items have dropped at the time you killed the second boss for the first time. And then check the achievements. The numbers required for achievements are absurd. Even in the context of the main game they should be reduced.

A fun fact about that is that we had a playtest with a considerable amount of people (the playtest was much larger than Arachne's Trial) and the point about achievements was not brought up once. During that time we (both players and us) went through the game across all chapters, and I don't think I saw anyone actually go achievement hunting which is why the thought never crossed my mind.

Of course, that's not to say that your opinions are invalid, actually, it is perfectly valid, it's just that previous players/testers did not think of this point as a negative.

Because getting 100% achievements is something that only a small number of people care about. No matter what the achievement hunters say. I can say about myself that I launched the prologue to get it 100%. Of course, I was interested in the game, but I am familiar with this genre and am not ready to play demos just like that. In general, achievements are the motivation to launch prologues for me personally. In general, I have no questions about how to get achievements in your game, it’s just that they don’t seem to award progress for killings or fatigue.

Coincidence hahahah
I was gonna ask about this. Some achievements really doesn't make any sense for grind purposes on a demo. I think you should remove some. And, in fact, the "lose a level" isn't working for me too.
MASTERHAENIR 16 Jan, 2024 @ 6:20pm
I've received the update here, there's only 2 achievements (boss fights only). Nice!

Just found this game today, I am a simple man, i see there are two achievements, TWO that's an easy 100% completion! =O

I check for people talking about them to see how much effort they require. Found this chain.

I don't mind some grinding, Christ... I play clicker games and 100% csgo before they messed it up.

But ones that are realistically unattainable or too many easily missed achis on the first play-through on story based games I hide from my account.

I don't want to play a game that requires me to get to master rank, I don't want to have to replay the story multiple times with no changes to it because I didn't find all the newspapers on the floor or click EVERY dialogue option.

Story based and progression achis are the best way to go. Can throw a little grinding in, but unless your game is grind based go easy on them

Downloading this now to have a bash after work and if I likey ill pick up the next one ^^
