CO-OP seem to be complertely broken
You cant share computer and thus the bases has to be in different locations, you cant share resources, your Log isn't shared.

This game is completely not Co-op friendly!

Lmao skill issue
In network settings, you can allow others to modify your base. You can set this to “friends only” (people listed on your Steam Friends list) or “anyone.” Setting this to "Friends Only" should allow a buddy to help with construction. However, they will generally need their own resources.

You can only trade resources from your inventory to another person nearby. When you select a stack of metal plates, for example, there will be options in the menu to move the items to your ship, freighter, or a new option to trade with a person near you. The other person needs to be within a specified distance for this option to appear.

They cannot access your Storage Unit inventory as when the Storage Unit is selected by them, they will only see their own items if they have any.

It is not broken....just basic. You can meet up with another player but very little is synced. A common complaint is the weather will vary for either player and some emerging events, like an angry critter, will not be seen by both players.

Technically, there is really no Co-op if I understand the true definition. MP in this game is best described at playing your own game with company.

So you can complain about it, but it is not broken (from a technical standpoint).

Note that there are some items, notably upgrade modules, that you CANNOT transfer ever.
Multi player was tacted on to a solo game and has been more trouble than it has been worth. They could have skipped multi player and put all that effort in core game play and the game would have been much better.

Their up coming game, Light No Fire, appears to be co-op focused. You might like that game better when it comes out. (ETA unknown)

Hello Games launched No Man's Sky with no multiplayer and said that there were other games that did that. They later added co-op, where you saw a few nearby other players as a floating orbs and could "build a monument" to your "meet-up." Later they added "multiplayer," but it's not MMO type and you have a limited group.

You can let friends edit your base, etc., but it's not a joint base. A base "belongs" to the player that created it.

It's not a "close community group" as some would like, but the game was designed as a solo exploration with hazards, threats, and trade. Bases were added later. "Multiplayer" much later.

It is what it is.
