You can also start the expedition from within a normal-mode game, but you will have to play through a number of tutorial missions first before you get to the stage where you can do that.
You should probably play a normal game through the tutorial to learn the game controls and basic mechanics.
Expectations are usually repeated in December and January so you will have another chance to earn these rewards.
or its different?
also, when expedition end can i still continue playing on the same save?
was thinking this is some kind of season / cycle in arpg game.
To play devil's advocate...
If you do a stand-alone Expedition start, though the beginning might be slow and "tough" (i.e. kill you a few times), as you get into it, the Expedition will GIVE you a lot of gear / tech blueprints that would take longer / cost you something / require you to build, ... in a shorter overall play time than a normal start might. Then at the end of the Expedition "story" / "quest-line", you can just continue that game save as your main playthrough.
Overall, I think I agree with the advisor above who said play a normal start through the tutorial at least ("Awakenings" quest in the player Log). But the approach I wrote of above IS an option.
