Awesome game. Very happy that I stumbled across this little gem. Played the heck out of the demo and a lot of great updates were made to the full game. Even just noticed an option for manual aim! Only negative is that you can't save your progress mid-run, since they are on the longer side. Would be nice to have this added down the road, but I'm not complaining...it's a good one!

Honestly a pretty solid survivors game. While it follows the same core gameplay as other survivors, there are a number of good iterations on the pattern here that make it a worthwhile addition to the genre:

The weapon upgrade system is interesting and flexible while staying easy to understand; you slot up to 4 mods into each power, with each mod buffing and altering the weapon behavior in some simple way, like more projectiles or splitting lasers or adding a burn effect.

The individual maps are only about 5 minutes long - a refreshing shorter map than other survivors-likes, but there's a light RPG style progression between maps to upgrade your stats, or you can use the currency to unlock more weapon/mod slots (which you can do in map as well). Also, you can quit to menu and it'll auto save (sadly only 1 save slot atm, I think?) so it's a lot easier to pick up and put down than other survivors games. Heck, it even saved my game from the demo and when I bought it, the full game just.. picked up where I quit the demo, so full marks there. A full run can take a couple of hours or more.

The meta progression between full runs exists and is.. pretty average, honestly. The tree structure is at least a tiny bit more interesting than the flat purchases from vampire survivors, so like half a point there.

The actual levels themselves are the same old gameplay that you know from the genre (though at least it didn't replicate "circle of high health enemies and a boss" lifted directly from Vampire Survivors again), which is generally a good thing, and there's enough variation to say this is a worthy pickup if you're a fan of the genre.

The readability isn't the best - enemies all look pretty samey, and enemy bullets are easy to miss when there gets to be a lot of them on the map, though by that point in my game, bullets did laughable damage so not a huge deal. The boss attacks, at least, are mostly pretty easy to see. I never felt like I lost because of hard to see attacks - just overwhelming numbers of enemies and me not having enough damage and mobility, so I was never frustrated by bullsh in the game, at least.

Anyway, pretty good work, Fuse Games. Gonna play this one more for sure.
