Well well well! Can you believe a week has passed -- Steam Next Fest is now over!
It was awesome to have you all try my game demo. Thank you so much for giving it a spin! :D

I also received a shoutout on Adventure Game Hotspot's list for game demos to watch out for in this edition of the Next Fest![adventuregamehotspot.com]

While the fest is over, I am aiming to perpetually leave up my demo, in case anyone wants to give it a spin to get a feel before the full game releases in December! :D

October 2024 Steam Next Fest + Beta Phase Progress!

Hi everyone!

Well it's that time of year...STEAM NEXT FEST!! WHOOHOOO!!

I have opted in for this year, so definitely feel free to ask questions, post discussions, show screenshots, or even any fan artwork you have! :)

On another note, I will be starting my second phase of beta testing next week! Major thanks to all the people who offered to dedicate some time to testing my game -- I know that it can be a lot of work!

On that note, I also wanted to thank my broader audience for supporting me through this journey. While I might be a hobbyist solo dev, I could not have done it without the encouragement of my community, the support of my friends and parents, and the motivation from the various gamedev groups I am a part of!

So thank you all for helping me push through the last rung of this game, and I hope to see you around in the discussions! :))

GUESS WHO FINISHED HER BASE BUILD?

Hi everyone!

Exciting news!! I finished my base build much earlier than I thought -- of course, in large part thanks to the support of my parents, the encouragement of my friends, and my amazing community (which includes you, yes you! :D)

As of now, I'm integrating steam achievements and testing them out. I'm also just adding last-minute touches / aiming to fix some non-blocking bugs as well.

In 1-2 weeks, I will be rolling out my first beta-testing phase, then a next one, and so on until late November, so that I can give you all a clean, (hopefully awesome!) build when it releases! :)

EXCITING NEWS! My demo will be released on October 1st, 2024 at 1:30 PT!
I'm going through my second beta-testing phase for this demo, and I would love to hear your thoughts!

A Brief Pause Before the Home Stretch!

Hi everyone! :D

Just wanted to give a heads up that I'm headed out for a week on vacation! I will be pausing development during this time just as a break, but I know I will be eager to get back into things once I am back!

I'm so excited that I am pretty much at the finish line now! The only remaining things are the very very last portion of the game, along with the credits! :))

Up next, I'm going to go ahead and start my alpha-testing phase, along with rolling out beta-testing slowly!

Heads-Down on Development, on Track to Release!

Hi everyone!

Hope you have been doing well for the past couple of months, sorry for yet another disappearance!

A lot has been going in terms of development -- my after-work hours and weekends are spent on trying to crack through this game, and I'm so excited to release it to you all! :D

All that remains is wrapping up the last portion of the game, alpha-testing, and beta-testing.

Thank you all so much for your patience through this process.

Where is Your Beta-Testing Feedback?

Hi everyone!

Thank you again for taking the time to try out my beta demo and provide your thoughts!
Your time in playing is precious to me, and I really appreciate all the detailed feedback I am receiving! :)

Wanted to give a quick heads up that as feedback responses are rolling in, I'm creating tickets for

A) Bugs -- pretty much any blocks or unintended behavior.

B) Improvements on UI that are frequently voiced and/or I believe could enhance the gameplay.

I usually try to check the responses I'm receiving everyday, work on these issues at night in the PT timezone, and release builds everyday (or every other day) addressing them!

For transparency with my testers, if you would like to track these issues and where I am at, feel free to check out this public link to my notion board[petite-package-a34.notion.site]! :)

Additionally, at the top of the beta-testing document linked here[docs.google.com], you can see the approximate time a new build is available (usually sometime in the night in the PT timezone).

Beta Testing in the Works!

Hey everyone! :)

Hope you've all been doing well over the past month!

Things have been getting fairly hectic in the process of gamedev because I'm getting ready to beta-test a small demo of this game! :D

They always say that last 10% is where the bulk of the work happens, and wow were they right! Sound effects, menus, and tests are much harder than I initially thought.

The good news is that I am close to wrapping this up! In roughly a week, I will be ready to pass this on to beta-testers. If you are interested in beta-testing, please feel free to comment on the post or email me at eccentricstylist@gmail.com ! :)

Since I'm aiming for this game to be released EOY, I'm contemplating between releasing the public demo sometime in June, or in time for the October Steam Next Fest since it's a spooky game.
