UPDATE IV has officially landed in Chocolate Factory Simulator, marking the completion of our ROAD MAP. It’s a huge milestone, and we won’t lie – we’re really proud of everything we’ve achieved! 💪

But… this is NOT the end! 🚀 Now it’s your turn!

Changes and Additions:

New game mode: We've added a Creative Mode, allowing you to customize the game to your liking. Unlimited money? Go for it. Max reputation on start? Sure. No more constantly repairing machines? You can throw away your wrench! However, a few important notes: there's no missions (including tutorial missions), so this might not be ideal for beginners, and no Steam achievements, because that would be a little too easy, wouldn't it?
Further control accessibility improvements: A closer to life machine operation using levers and valves is a key gameplay element in Chocolate Factory Simulator, but we've heard your feedback: not everyone enjoys it, and some players find it difficult to use. To make machine interactions easier, we've added a new interaction option called "Set". When using "Set" on a machine controller, a window will appear with predefined buttons for simple settings (for example: On/Off, Open/Close), and sometimes a slider with text input field for more precise value adjustments - depending on the machine controller type. We hope this enhancement will make the game more accessible and enjoyable - especially for those who couldn't or didn't want to move their mouse miles across the desk every time they needed to open a valve.
New music track added: Another absolute musical banger has been added to the Chocolate Factory soundtrack. Turn it up!
Shop UI improvements: While shopping, you can now see how much of a product you already have in you warehouse without constantly switching to the "Warehouse" tab. No more memorizing your entire inventory out of fear of unintentionally overstocking ingredients and wasting valuable storage space. Important note: This system only checks warehouse stock - if you've taken something out of storage (Warehouse room), it will no longer count towards your warehouse inventory.
Additional Graphics Options: We've added DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) support. DLSS uses AI on NVIDIA RTX cards to improve framerate while keeping image quality high. If you have compatible hardware, you can enable DLSS in the graphics settings and choose from different modes (e.g., Quality, Balanced, Performance) to fine-tune the experience based on your preferences and system capabilities.
Improved container capacity display during pouring: We've changed how remaining space is displayed when pouring ingredients into a container. Now instead of showing the maximum capacity, the Additional Info window will dynamically update and display the actual remaining space in the container in real-time, so no more guessing how much room is left.
Larger warehouse dispensers: We've increased the capacity of warehouse dispensers from 1kg to 3kg. Now you can store and dispense more ingredients without constant refilling!
Melanger indicator improvement: The indicator showing the correct consistency valve setting caused some confusion due to its placement, so we've relocated the indicator from above the valve over the Melanger bowl, to the column displaying the current grinding level.
Container Recipe Helper improvements: Added a new icon in the game world to indicate which container is currently linked to the pinned Sticky Note. Since a Sticky Note can only be connected to one container at a time, this should help quickly identify the linked container. This feature is opt-out - meaning it is enabled by default, but if you don't need the visual indicator, you can disable it in the game settings.

Bug Fixes:

Adjusted order evaluation scoring: A small error in our mathematical formula caused some orders to reach absurdly high percentages (150% or more). You can still exceed 100% and impress customers with exceptional quality, but now withing a more reasonable range.
Improved machine settings assistance for the Melanger: The system incorrectly indicated that setting power level to "Suboptimal" was always invalid. This was a mistake, as almost all recipes can be made at power levels lower than "Optimal" without issues.
Additional save protection: We've added a save safeguard to prevent rare issue where a save (for example an auto-save) could happen exactly when a chocolate was packed into a box but hadn't yet reached the dispenser. Previously, this could result in chocolate getting stuck inside the machine with no way to retrieve it after loading the game. This should no longer happen.
Fixed incorrect screenshot in the Encyclopedia & corresponding popup: We've corrected the screenshot in the popup and Encyclopedia page for the Container Recipe Helper system.
Nougat gets a final warning: Nougat didn't quite get the message the first time when we told him not to interrupt player interactions when finishing his own tasks... He's now undergone additional training and received a second (and final!) warning. From now on, when Nougat completes a task (for example pouring something into the Melanger bowl), it should no longer interrupt whatever the player is currently doing. Nougat, you're walking on thin ice, buddy.
Fixed container recipe helper calculation: The Container Recipe Helper system was incorrectly calculating minimum and maximum ingredient ranges for recipes weighing more or less than 100g.
Fixed jar labels: Fixed a bug where the icon on jars would disappear.
Fixed a bug with the Decorating Table: Fixed an issue where players could get stuck if they placed chocolate on the decorating table while simultaneously opening the book.
Fixed position and rotation of the "Small Chest" decoration: Previously when held the small chest decoration blocked nearly half the screen, and its default rotation when placed down was also incorrect.
Fixed a bug with the decorating table interaction: Fixed a bug where the decorating table view sometimes couldn't be closed using the ESC key.

We've just released a new update for Chocolate Factory Simulator: Prologue, focusing on important bug fixes to improve your experience.

Check out the full patch notes below! 👇

Fixed resolution settings on Steam Deck: Previously on first launch, Steam Deck would automatically set a very low resolution, causing text to scale poorly and become completely unreadable. This issue should no longer occurs, and the game should now function properly on Steam Deck. We will continue to improve SteamDeck compatibility in future updates.

Changes and additions:
- Added an "Interaction sensitivity" slider to the game settings, allowing to adjust how much input is required during interactions with various objects or controllers (e.g., stirring or turning valves).
- Slightly improved the readability of the total amount of additives on the blackboard displaying the current order.
- The Furnace's technical condition now deteriorates more slowly, reducing the frequency of required repairs.
- Resized slightly the board that's displaying the currently active order to improve its readability.

Bug fixes:
-After fixing the save-related bug, some players affected by this issue might have lost their wrench. To compensate, we have significantly reduced the price of the wrench in the shop for a limited time to ensure everyone can afford to buy a replacement.
- Fixed a bug that allowed items to be placed too quickly, which occasionally caused them to fall through the floor.
- Fixed the functionality of the recipe note. It now displays correctly and no longer switches to a recipe other than the one pinned.
- Improved Nougat's pathfinding in several areas.

Known issues:
- Nougat occasionally fails to transfer the entire specified amount to the Melanger or trash.
- Improvements and changes to translations are ongoing (German translation currently requires the most attention).

Changes and additions:
- Added missing interactions blockers for levers, valves and other controllers for when the Melanger, Press and Tempering Machine are working.
- Dispensers can only be refilled using refills available for purchase in the shop — refilling dispensers by interacting with them with an empty hand has been disabled.
- The Melanger can now increase the quality level of all recipes (chocolates, toppings and fillings) by +2, depending on the set power level.

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug that caused some ingredients and products to change their quality level after loading a save.
- Fixed the display of temperature ranges in recipes – the temperature range no longer splits into two lines.
- Recipes for ingredients in the melanger bowl should now be correctly searched for after loading a saved game.

- Improvements to trash bins: Many of you have reported accidentally throwing pots, bowls, or spatulas into the trash. While we don't want to completely disable this option for now, we've added an extra safeguard: a confirmation window asking if you're sure you want to throw away the item currently in your hands. Additionally, we've reduced the size of the trash bin near the workbench in the Production Hall so it's harder to miss-click.
- Added cleared tooltip for phone issue reported after installing nad modules for Nougat: We've received several reports about a possible bug with the phone, where players couldn't interact with it after installing the hand module for Nougat. This is turned out not a bug, but an issue with communication. The player cannot interact with the phone to accept a new order (added as a new quest task after installing the hand) because there is already have an active order. The current order must be completed before accepting a new one. We've added a clearer, more descriptive tooltip for this scenario.
- Fixed a bug that made it impossible to produce vegan and ruby chocolate at a quality level higher than "Basic". Now using power levels above Optimal in the Melanger should properly reward players with chocolates of higher quality than "Basic".
- Updated the description of the edible flower box, which incorrectly suggested that the package contained 10 decorations when, in fact, it contains only 5.
- Added missing Chinese characters.

From Prologue to Full Release: What's New?

Hello Chocolate Enthusiasts! 🎉

We're thrilled to announce the upcoming full release of Chocolate Factory Simulator, building on the Prologue and using all your incredible support and feedback we’ve been focused on crafting a sweeter, more immersive experience. Before we move to the list of changes- here’s the information you’re most interested in!

The Full version will have its premiere on January 7th, 2025!! 📅🤩

Here's a breakdown of the major improvements and new features in the full version:

1. Expanded Gameplay

More quests: Dive into a more then 30 main quests that will guide you throughout the game and allow you to gain access to new recipes, machines, and challenges.

2. Machines and Recipes

Machines: Discover 14 steampunk-themed machines: ranging from helper equipment, through work stations all the way to full production machine!.
Recipes: Master over 22 base recipes. For intermediate ingredients and for totally new chocolates: from classic milk chocolate to truly unique treats
Hand-made and procedural orders: Base recipes are only the beginning! Each order will include it's own requirements that require you to farther modify the recipe to fulfill the order.
Robot Nougat Improvements: Nugat, your robotic assistant, has received new features, further enhancing its utility in chocolate production.

3. Dynamic Events

Dynamic Events: Handle challenges like ingredient price changes or machinery breakdowns.

4. Visual and Performance Upgrades

Graphics: Enhanced textures, lighting, and animations for a more immersive experience.
UI Overhaul: Redesigned menus and HUD for greater clarity and ease of use.
Optimization: Significant performance improvements for smoother gameplay, even on lower-end systems.

5. Community-Driven Features

Customizable Factories: Based on player feedback, you can now decorate and design your factory with aesthetic elements like colors, layouts, and furniture.
Achievements & Leaderboards: Progress all the way to the top of the leaderboards to prove who runs the most efficient chocolate empire. Keep in mind they're not real players but a little artificaly made competition to give you a little challenge.

6. Other

Tutorial Enhancements: New tips and guidance for first-time players to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Gameplay Balancing: Adjustments have been made to gameplay, economy, and progression systems to ensure a smoother and more rewarding experience.
Expanded Order System: The order system now includes timed orders and a refined customer preference system, adding variety and depth to your tasks.
Progressive Unlocks: Rooms and machines are now unlocked gradually, providing a more structured sense of progression.
Ingredient Mixing Overhaul: The mixing mechanic has been redesigned to be more interactive and aligned with realistic chocolate-making processes.
New Audio Features: Additional sound effects and music tracks have been introduced to enrich the auditory experience.
