I just to say up front that I like this game, but in its current state I cannot recommend it. I think that the concept is unique and the gameplay is easy to learn. Unfortunately there is a gamebreaking feature that makes this game unplayable at the later stages, and I cannot fathom what the developer was thinking in implementing it.

For some reason, the developer thought to add in a progressive hunger drain on the golems. The farther you get, the faster their hunger goes down. To the point where it is impossible to upkeep. I had stockpiled close to 400 units of food, and watched it drain in 2 stages. There gets to be a point where you cannot maintain the hunger levels and the golems will all just starve to death. The food cannot grow fast enough to cover.

I know that there is cooking that will help to increase what each item feeds them for. However, there are a few issues with that as well. When 400 units of food is gone in two stages (and that is while continuing to grow food on 24 farm tiles, mostly corn), the cooking will not help. Another issue is that when the golems are hungry, they just eat. You cannot have them wait to cook something first. Also, the priority list is not very useful. While some of the golems abide by the priorities, more often they just do what they want. I have set golems to the red X on mining and they still ran off to mine and did nothing else. So trying to prioritize cooking does not seem to do much.

The main issue I am seeing with this feature, is that the game turns into a farm simulator where nothing else can be accomplished except for farming and harvest, or else all of the golems starve to death, and at progressively faster rates. You cannot mine for materials, build weapons or rooms, repair, or even spend the time trying to produce ammo, because every bit of time now needs to be spent farming. The rest of the game may as well not exist because it was all a distraction to now. Except, the later stages are almost all frozen so you cannot grow food anyway, gauranteeing starvation. This mechanic adds nothing to the game, except removing the ability to play it. It does not add difficulty, it just adds frustration, and I hope the developer changes this quickly.

I feel that this game has a lot of potential, but until this feature is fixed I highly recommend not buying the game. The annoyance it just not worth it with so many other games being released.

Some other things that would be nice to see are the ability to pause development on constructions. Such that, you have a few items that you want to be built, and some resources are already placed in them. You also have things mapped out to a certain design, once they are finished, but you need a weapon to be built first. There is no way to have certain constructs be prioritized over the others. If you would like the golems to focus on one thing before the others, without cancelling all other plans, that cannot currently happen.

Another thing would be for the priority system to get straightened out. There are too many times that I have set the golems to transport and they just continued to mine until the dark storm arrived. I had to leave many resources behind because of this.

I would also like to see where a run ends. It looked like there was no ending at all to the run. Every time I arrived at a stage another appeared. I made it through around 14 stages, and there was nothing indicating an end to that run.

Honestly, if the hunger drain issue gets fixed, I would be happy to leave this a good review, but until then, save your money. I will not be requesting a refund, as I still have high hopes for this game.

Fun game, but it's nearly a negative review for me because of the storage system.

You constantly run low on storage space. I don't enjoy the storage simulator aspect of this game.

Resource gathering and storage is a key component to the gameplay.

Lovely game. The pacing and rhythm of resource gathering, building, defending, and rebuilding is phenomenal.

In it's current version I loved:
- the enemy diversity
- the mining and strategic resource gathering (especially later on when they become limited and planning the next stop becomes more important)
- the animation of the golems is 100000/10
- the AI is pretty good once you get the hang of it

♥♥♥♥:
- the tech tree was horrendous. Trying to figure out what needed to be purchased to actually use the unlocks from other tiers was annoying. Not all items have resource requirements (namely ammo)
- some of the weapons felt off theme. Rebranding them as more mystical would be more engrossing. As fun as having four rocket launchers is maybe they could be nymph themed? Fireworks or fireball maybe? Leaning more into
- most of the ancient items were straight up bad. I ended the game with 6 gears and didn't use a single one. Having an option to take them apart for resources would be nice. Or having them be plans. Imagine digging up a pre-built small force field generator!

simple and addictive

A really good colony management, base building and tower defence game in one. But still in really early access so about 30h in you run out of anything to do. Additionally the preformance in the endgame is absolutely terrible right now, I get about 8-10fps on a decent machine. I'm really excited tho for it's potential in the future

Very hard city building survival game. Research and build weapons, defenses, building upgrades, all while finding food, mining materials, growing plants, and balancing the weight of your buildings. Frustrating but fun.
