Mediocre story, decent gameplay, but absolutely amazing atmosphere. If you are a fan of the setting, you'll probably love the game.

I have no idea why this game has so many bad reviews, im convinced theyre just trolls. i played this came continuously for 23 hours and finished the main quest. its amazing, breathtaking, stunning. the story is captivating, the views are absolutely beautiful, the traversal is incredibly fun. this game is amazing.

This game is about being an agile ten-foot-tall alien exploring a beautiful wilderness and taking on an interstellar empire using arrows, comically powerful fists, and your pet dragon. All of this (the most important parts) are well-done, so I like and enjoy the game.

That said, it has sort of a lot of flaws and I can see where the negative reviews are coming from. The story is weak (not the crime against storytelling some have described it as, but it peaks at mediocre). There are some irritating weaknesses in combat design. There's not much variety in combat spaces. Minor bugs come up frequently (plus 2 crashes in my playtime). And, of course, Ubisoft is icky. All of that gives me some pause.

Nonetheless, it delivers well enough on its premise that I recommend you give it a shot, if you find the premise interesting.
