Please fix this asap as i am now unable to play this game, which i have payed good money for and was enjoying playing.
Now I can even load formerly corrupted savegames.
Developer please update with a patch to fix this
If i don't here back from you within 2 days time i will then have no choice but to report your game to steam and start the process for a refund.
Though I noticed in the file that state the datapack (gdp files) locations, it mentions pack 00 to 03.
when I looked at the files, I'm apperently missing pack03 from my data folder, and I'm guessing that might be the cause of the problem.
anyone know where I can find the last datapack ?
(apperently it didn't come with the game)
Please note that i am reporting this game under faulty / does not work but have selected legal violation because you do not have this option
This game does not work, please see the forums as their are dozens of complaints yet the developer is doing nothing to fix this game.
Please make the developer fix this game or provide me with a refund.
This game is currently on the weekly deal and should be taken off as the game is being sold when not in full working order
New game => OK
Load game => Crash...

I found a solution for everything (can't start, and load problems).
When installing the game from the Steam library, choose other path than the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\".
The problem (maybe) the "()" in the path, so choose e.g. "D:\Games\". I did not found the solution for installing it on the same drive (C), but other directory (so you should have at least an other partition).
After installation, you do not have to delete the videos, or modify the config file, everything should work correctly (I run it as an administrator).
If you already have saved games from previous play, than first copy the files into the "data\profiles\" directory. Than start the game, and start a new game. If it start (maybe it wont work for first, but it should work second or third time), than it should be ok now, so you can load the saved contents ingame.
My Config (just for information):
Win10 64 bit
X4 955
HD 5850
This was not my idea, I found it here (just shared my experiences, because it worked for me):

P.S.: For me it runs only at 1024x768 (does not matter if I change it at the options), but it still more better than nothing.
That's legit I just cut entire folder out of steam place pasted it in program files ran the hta.exe directly from folder no errors what so ever Man thanks for the post makes sense that the () in the (x86) part could possibly mess things up as based on lua scripting also in 2005 there was no such a thing as program Files (x86).
btw if you so desire a different res search in that config file for r_height and r_width I'm currently playing game just fine on 1920x1080
btw before i forget it u should better not change the resolution because a year ago i played it and after a week or so it crashed complettly and didnt started so i guess it should be the resolution :D
I cut it straight from steam just tossed it in "Program Files" non (x86).
To my suprise it didn't even need steams drm to run. Yeah idk strange huh? It's legit paid for exe aswell, that is the part that bluffed me.
The game apparently has no steam drm or any other even on it.
Don't matter to me it works now and I'm happy.
What it looks like to me D drive my game drive so you might be some other letter "D:\Program Files\Hard Truck Apocalypse/hta.exe"
Send hta.exe to ya desktop (create shortcut) run game with the newly created shortcut.
That is what fixed it for me. Downside it is not going to track your game time and wont have steam overlay, unless you add it like it was a non-steam game (even if it is).
Because when you run it from the new shortcut, it is no longer going through steam.
(Think mainly because it has no DRM what so ever to be honest. Usually steam games wont run like this from my past experience)
Personally, I don't care if it tracks my time or not.
Not like i enjoy bragging about having no life lmao.
Changing res had no ill effects on me, if you had a problem thats on you.
Just saying not trying to be rude.
I sit there and played about 2hrs straight the day I posted the former post.
Had no crashes, ran like a top.
btw im on win 7 x64.
So it might not have the same effect for some one on win 8-10.
I mean 10 has problems with some modern games.
I'm not to suprised a 11 1/2 year old game has trouble on it.
