The fires are burning bright in the Eight Hells today!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that on October 3, you will embody the demon unlike ever before.

Metal: Hellsinger VR redesigns the original acclaimed rhythm shooter from the ground up, placing its infernal arsenal straight into your hands and the fires of Hell at your feet. Experience an unparallelled state of flow as you move, dash, and aim in full VR.

Headbang into the Hells in our new trailer:

Metal: Hellsinger VR features the full multi award-winning soundtrack performed by metal legends such as Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy).

The Dream of the Beast DLC will also arrive at launch, which includes two additional songs, performed by Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) and Will Ramos (Lorna Shore), as well as The Red Right Hand, an infernal weapon which fires in rhythmic bursts. Also included in the DLC are three outfits which each comes with an alternate default passive effect, such as the ability to increase your weapon’s max ammo each time you successfully Quick Reload.

Get ready to show the Hells the meaning of metal as you embark on an epic campaign of revenge to take back your voice from the Red Judge of the Eight Hells.

Becoming Unknown - Metal: Hellsinger VR | High Score Contest

Greetings Hellsingers,

Last week, we casually dropped the demo for Metal: Hellsinger VR and we hope that you have been enjoying your time in VR Hells.

Let's spice things up a little, shall we?

We are organizing a high-score contest. It's simple.

- Launch the demo
- Select Stygia - Goat difficulty - Keep it the default song
- Slay to the beat
- Get the highest score and record your gameplay showing the start and the end screens clearly
- Share your gameplay video on X, Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram with the hashtag #BecomingUnknown and your name on Steam. You can also upload it to YouTube and share the link on socials. Up to you!
- Stay at the top of the leaderboard and win

We have a leaderboard in the game so you can follow your progress in real time and see how close you are to getting the highest score. You also shouldn't use the Beat Assist Mode!

What about the rewards?

There will be 3 winners.

1st place: Cameo video from Matt Heafy of Trivium and a Metal: Hellsinger VR key for platform of choice
2nd place: Metal: Hellsinger VR key for platform of choice

Metal: Hellsinger VR Demo Available now!

Greetings, Hellsingers.

For the past year or so, we've been working hard on bringing you a hellishly hot first
look at Metal: Hellsinger VR. We're happy to announce that you can get your hands
on a playable demo right now.

In this demo, you will have access to:

Two levels and their respective tracks

Voke
Stygia

Four weapons

Terminus
Paz
Persephone
The Hounds

And the new VR Lobby we designed for the game. You can access this lobby to
check out your loadout and pick your poison.

You can also test out some of our accessibility settings, check out the performance
(which is not final), and have fun while slaying to the beat.

If you haven't seen it, we announced this news at the UploadVR Showcase today
with a brand-new trailer featuring Matt Heafy from Trivium and a release date
pointing at FALL 2024. Check it out here:

Metal: Hellsinger VR

Immediately crashes on startup when I try and run it?

When I try and run it, it very briefly (like I had to screencap it to even see it) pops up a unity crash window (no text, just the logo and a progress bar along the bottom) & then exits. I can't find a crash log in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\TheOutsiders\ (no "TheOutsiders" folder), No "metal" subfolder under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\ at all, no .log file in the install folder or subfolders that I can find. I have Win 10 i7-4790k, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB, SSD, which I think exceeds the recommended...

Stylized Vignette Effects

Played a bit of the demo, but the stylized vignette effects prevented my from exploring deeper. To clarify, coloring and pulsing around the edges of my lenses. Vignetting is controversial in its own right among flatscreen gamers. I don't find it generally translates well to VR, and has become more common in VR games. The use of such often prevents me continuing a game or returning a purchase. I find these effects intrusive, due to the limitations of FOV. I would like developers to take such into considerat...

Some Feedback for a Better Experience

1. Reloading through Gestures: Reloading with gestures disrupts the rhythm and isn't intuitive. Preparing for reloading gestures between beats makes me feel like I'm stepping out of the rock music every time I reload. The visual effects indicating successful reloading are unclear, so it's hard to tell at a glance whether I've reloaded or am in the process of doing so. Remember that directly implementing the visual effects from the regular version into VR might not make them sufficiently visible. We need a ...

Needs Holsters....

Can we get holsters instead of a stick menu for weapon select? The stick menu feels very awkward, and none of the current headsets have poor tracking for over the shoulder slots.
