I am pretty sure you can rotate the camera any way you like. Can you describe the problem in detail?

I cant seem to do a 360 rotation of the character the camera seems to be facing one direction and its hard to a pick up items or target enemies that are behind walls or objects.

Camera sensitivity starts absurdly low, you can fix it in options.

Yeah, that's likely the cause of the problem. Let's see if changing sensivity will help.

Open game directory, find Autoexec file and open it via text editor like Notepad++
Insert there two lines:
Cam_UseAngles false
FreeCamera True
Save the file
