Turn off lightning flashes?

I got this game via GOG, and I really love it, but the lightning flashes are murder on my eyes. Is there a way to turn the flashing lights off? I'm also open to modding solutions (if there are any).

I don't think there's any way to turn it off sadly. The mods for this game don't exist since the code is encrypted and it's very difficult to mod it. Sorry about that
