Cant refund the game ?
Hello every 1 bought this game (ep 2, 3 and 4) and didnt play them so I decided to refund them as I found the remastered offer is better. However steam refused to refund me it said I have 8hours in it ... the 8 hours were spent in episode 1 the free one .. any suggestions?

I guess it depends how one interprets the situation:

Scenario 1:
I played the free Episode 1 for 8 hours, then purchased the Complete Season (Episodes 1-5), but within 14 days period I've decided to change my mind and refund them.

Scenario 2:
I purchased the Complete Season (Episodes 1-5) and played the Episode 1 for 8 hours, but within 14 days period I've decided to change my mind and refund them.

I think in Scenario 1 you could technically be eligible for a refund, but in Scenario 2 you wouldn't as you have already played the purchased Episode 1 for over 2 hours.

Here is what it says about the refunding DLC:
Refunds on Downloadable Content
(Steam store content usable within another game or software application, "DLC")

DLC purchased from the Steam store is refundable within fourteen days of purchase, and if the underlying title has been played for less than two hours since the DLC was purchased, so long as the DLC has not been consumed, modified or transferred. Please note that in some cases, Steam will be unable to give refunds for some third party DLC (for example, if the DLC irreversibly levels up a game character). These exceptions will be clearly marked as nonrefundable on the Store page prior to purchase.

More information about Steam's refund policy can be found in here:

The steam policy itself was created because of Australia laws.

In practice once you bought the game you need to prove that you haven't breached the seal and that you have when you downloaded the game.

The policy of two hours is technically a one hour to test if the game is running on your hardware and that the program start working. Technically steam can extract that if you encountered lots of error and crashes when playing the game as they're sent to steam, it can as well see what hardware you running at.

The only one who can do anything is your bank who can chargeback and you end up in a legal dispute with Valve. Since technically if you don't own it and you giving it back to Valve in the same condition how can it be considered stealing.

I played ep 1 for 8hours before the purchase.. When I purchased it I only run the game for few sec to check whether the episode were installed .Steam reply seems to be AI generated . It said (we can't refund you as your total playtime were 8hours...anyways that was unfair and I decided to move and continue playing.

nice
8 hours its 5 and I am a very slow gamer. Besides, I think they did something with the chapters and only invented the episodes afterwards.

May I ask in which way the remaster is worse than the original? I do own the orginal as I bought the collectors edition physical release back in the day but never finished the game.

The main thing that's objectively worse is the bugs, though Before the Storm is (or was last I checked) worse on that front.

It's more a matter of subjective taste, but the remaster has a more "realistic" (when it's not suffering from glitches and animation bugs) art style, while the original is more stylised.

Thanks for that! Now that I am done with the main game of True Colors, I resumed my gamplay of 2017, finished chapter 1 and will continue playing the original without considering starting from scratch with the remaster.

I was back than and am still fine with the art style of the original, I had to get used to it again however after all the years of the long break.
