For the low price this game is I'd rather buy it, play it and make my own mind up than trust the idiotic reviewers at GS.

That is exactly what i'm doing right now.

Whatever happened to just playing a game and forming an opinion of your own?

If I would have listened to every review I've ever watched or read.. I would have missed out on tons of games that I love.

You do reliase that's a gamespot review right? They always handout lowscores and when they do video reviews there even worst. Usually some guy whining for 5mins.

Don't listen to these big site reviews. They review all the games under the same lens as if there was a universal idea of what a "good" game is. They are partially responsible for AAA games being almost identical to one another these days.

The game is cheap, it's lovingly crafted and it's a unique experience. If you're interested, buy it, play it, form your own opinion about it.

We're getting multiple reviews - highly suggest you check out multiple as well as look at YouTube videos.

- Optional levels are easy to miss yet harbor vital story points.
This is one of the cons. Facepalm

Developers stopped releasing demos. And with so many games competing for your time and money these days, reviews can help people decide if it's even worth their taking the time to research it or seek out an 'unofficial' demo to make sure.

Still, that review wasn't very damning IMO. Game still looks interesting to me, and with its reasonable price I'm still considering it.

As a gamer myself - I tend to watch people play on Twitch or Youtube as opposed to reading reviews, but to each their own. :)

I beat the game in less then 2 hrs, but I thought it was well worth the price of admission. The game is a bit on the janky side, but if you can get by that you might really enjoy what Toren has to offer.

I think since this game isn't exactly a mainstream type of title you're going to get a bunch of polarizing opinions. So I wouldn't really read into what the big name sites have to say about a title like this. Give it a shot though, it's pretty good!

Gamespot are a bunch of hapless tossers anyway, almost as bad as IGN, Let Metacritic do the talking
