Xbox 360 Controller Mapping
For those of you who want to bang your head against the Configuration options, here's a mapping to help get an idea of what's going on. The configurations are saved as .gcm files which you can find and edit in a text editor, if you wish.

For the following, the numbers on the left indicate what is listed in the .gcm configuration file that is saved. The numbers in parentheses indicate what the Configure Game Controller menu shows. Basically, they are off by 1.

Example: From the configure menu, you press A on the controller. For whichever button assignment you have selected, it will put a 1 in the box. When you Apply and save the configuration to a .gcm file, it will save a 0 in the file for that assignment. When you load the file, it will again show a 1 in the box for that assignment.

Buttons
0 - (1) A
1 - (2) B
2 - (3) X
3 - (4) Y
4 - (5) Left Bumper
5 - (6) Right Bumper
6 - (7) Back (AKA "Select")
7 - (8) Start
8 - (9) Left stick press
9 - (10) Right stick press
POV Up - DPad Up
POV Down - DPad Down
POV Left - DPad Left
POV Right - DPad Right

Axes
X - X-axis (Left stick left/right)
Y - Y-axis (Left stick up/down)
Z - Triggers
Rx - X-axis (Right stick left/right)
Ry - Y-axis (Right stick up/down)

Here is my current mapping (.gcm file -- again, remember to add 1 to these values when looking at the Configuration menu).

1023 5
1024 4
1025 255
1026 255
1027 2
1028 3
1029 0
1030 1
1031 POV Down
1032 POV Right
1033 POV Left
1034 POV Up
1035 6
1036 7
1037 X
1038 Ry
1039 Z
1040 Rx

I set my sticks to function the same way I have things set up in Battlefield, except for the Left stick's Y-axis. When I tried to map that to Boost/Brake, it was reversed and it drove me crazy. Instead, I mapped it to Z which lets me use the right trigger for Boost and left for Brake.

I'm worried Zoom might not work out too well. I will probably swap it with Secondary fire, or maybe use a Stick press.

Honestly wouldn't be too bad if zoom was togglable.
I just leave zoom blank, map roll to right trigger, map boost and break to R and L, lasers to A, secondary to X, wing commands to the D pad, and change view to clicking in the left stick. Easy as pie and works for me! But this guide is great.

ok does anyone know what the default controls do without using numbers just describe the buttons?
I’m trying to map for an Xbox one controller and it doesn’t seem right. To turn right and left it uses the left joy stick and to turn up and down it uses the right joy stick and it’s inverted… I just want to get the controls like how they were on the original Xbox.
