i ♥♥♥♥ at dark deception and i cant get past the agatha boss any tips?

I'm on the level Mascot Mayhem. I have a decently powerful PC, but this level in particular had some severe slowdown and lag, but I was able to power through it. I'm toward what is probably the last stretch of it, with the confrontation in a circular room with no lava and the lag has reached critical mass. It's a slideshow. It's not just lag anymore.
