Green flickering screen artifacts and similar issues - read this
We've managed to find out what is wrong here. NVidia drivers 388.59 cause all our Unreal Engine 4 games to sometimes glitch in the way you described. I have no ETA for a proper fix, the only thing you can do is to revert your video drivers to 388.00 or 388.14, both of those revisions are confirmed working for people with the same issue as you.

Changing the fullscreen mode to windowed fullscreen (borderless) might work. Additionally we have now verified a case with the same issue caused by an old driver bug that apparently came back. Link here.[forums.geforce.com]

It's not like we can fix driver bugs, therefore I'm giving you guys all the info I can get. Thanks to players who are wiling to test stuff on their machines, since we have no such issue on any of our PC's, both at home and work.

The next newest that was released after 388.59 is still bugged this way. No idea when NVidia deals with this.

Thank you for keeping us up to date on the issue. Hopefully those affected can find a work around in the mean time.
I had this bug as well but changing the resolution once fix the problem. But when I played the game yesterday it doesn't appeared anymore.

i had the same problem you have to go in window / full screen mode to fix it

I can confrim as well that Borederless Window mode, or anything that isnt complete Fullscreen only mode, it works just fine. No green flickering or any other sort of graphical hiccup. (I just got this desktop yesterday after my previous failed.) Seems like an easy fix. Ive yet to test if doing it once fixes it for all the time, however.

I thought my monitor was dying. Seriously, work with NVIDIA.

Welp guys, thats the fix. This happens with alot of UE4 games. Latest Nvidia drives have caused alot of issues. The fix should work for all UE4 games. Good luck!

"It's not like we can fix driver bugs"

Not to be rude, but isn't that kinda what devs do when they do a patch, fix bugs that could be introduced from software updates? I mean, this is the only game in my account I have ran into that has this problem, leaning towards the fact that the bug is in the game, not the driver. Especially the fix is to have the nVidia driver handle color settings instead of the native app.

When you do a patch you can fix the thing you are patching. If you turn on your Antivirus and tell it to quarantine the game (this is pretty often happening automatically) - how do you think a developer can fix it?

Very similar thing happens here. And it's definitely not only our game, if you really want to go into detail on this issue - feel free to google it up. Or start with the links I've given to NVidia forums in the OP and dig from there.

As a gamer I wouldn't care if devs can fix it or not - I'd demand a fix - I paid for a product and it doesn't work. I understand that attitude. Unfortunately, stuff is not that black and white and we're depending on OS and drivers to do their work properly. This is a case between OS and driver that we cannot fix. Maybe the engine developers find a workaround somewhere in the future. That's all we can hope for as a dev.

Screen changes to green or purple for a few seconds immediately after the small load screen , I forget which colour but then the screen goes black with only sound playing. ... I don't know if this is the same bug?

Have you tried the other fix mentioned in the OP? Nvidia Color Settings?

When there's no place for the camera to show up close without getting into other geometry, then you will not see a close-up execution.
