Fixed: cannot load from save and super slow gameplay
Error on load from save:
An unrecoverable error has occurred and the program must terminate.

Description: Failed to set cull mode to none.
D3DERR_INVALIDCALL(-2005530516)
Invalid Call

Also I'm on windows 10 and this game is ultra super-super slow and I don't have an old machine. I have games with substantially better graphics than this play well.

Load from save fails:

I tried the load from save once under windows 10 and then tried setting the game compatibility mode to windows 7 restarting and making a new save - load still errors out.

Edited to add, I tried rebooting, running the game and loading the save. Same error. Only other thing running was Steam.

I ended up setting my screen resolution to 1280x800 and setting the compatibility mode to windows xp sp 3. (I also turned off steam overlay and unplugged the controller but I don't think this made a difference.) Now I can save and load games and walking around is no longer super slow. I was able to complete the entire game without any crashing.
