Space truckin

I grew up playing Elite 2: Frontier, and I was waiting until now to play the new Elite because I wanted to be sure that you could at least do the same things in this, as you could in that game. Well it's close enough (and in some ways has surpassed) my expectations. I've dived straight in with E:D + Odyssey and I'm not disappointed.

The moment-to-moment gameplay I love is all there with some interesting variations (combat is far better, thank God!) and additions, the 'real' galaxy to play in is awe-inspiring and the sound design is fantastic and atmospheric (even outside an atmosphere!).

To those worried it might be too 'simmy' for them, I would say it looks a lot more complicated than it actually is. You get the hang of things much quicker than in comparative games (X series, Star Citizen, NMS), even with the plethora of keybindings.

To space sim and Elite series fans, this is a no brainer. To anyone else who likes sci-fi or even has a healthy interest in astronomy - this might be the game that turns you on to sims.
