For some reason the frame rate is just insanely small, there's stuttering all over and there seem to be problems with those panels as well, I'm guessing that's also because of all the lag. How can I fix this?

I get 1500 fps, the game moves at like 10x slower than normal speed, and the timer ticks down in real time so I get game over before I even get past the first little stretch of the game...

I'm getting this error upon launching the game through Steam: Steam must be running to play this game (SteamAPI_Init() failed). Help? Edit: I've already verified the game cache and reinstalled the game but the error is still appearing for me. Windows 7 32-bit OS...
