solved 99% of an area all i needed was a gas can and spent ages trying to find it. turns out its on the other side of the map. had to look it up in a guide after i gave up searching every single corner.

"Kona" is a captivating first-person narrative adventure set in the desolate, snow-covered landscapes of 1970s Northern Canada. We are playing as a private investigator named Carl Faubert,tasked with uncovering the cause of strange events plaguing a mining village. Blending survival elements with a compelling mystery the game creates a unique and atmospheric experience. Gave me Subnautica and Firewatch vibes all over, to be honest.


•Exploration and Investigation: Discover clues, solve puzzles, and piece together the story through a tiring(!) hike in the environment.

•Survival Elements: Manage Carl's temperature and find items to survive the harsh winter conditions.

•Narrative Focus: A compelling story unfolds through discovered documents, environmental storytelling, and Carl's internal monologues.

•Combat Encounters: Face hostile wildlife and supernatural threats, requiring resourcefulness and strategic thinking.

•Driving and Navigation: Traverse the vast, frozen landscape using a pickup truck and map. I really liked driving the truck, to be honest. I remember just driving around for an hour and for nothing lol.

-Simplistic survival mechanics. I was expecting a TLD experience...You know it's snowy in northern Canada.

-Clunky combat.

-Slow pacing. I had to listen to some podcasts in the background while moving from one location to another.


There's something oddly thrilling about games that evoke a sense of being observed. It's a unique kind of excitement that fuels my desire to delve deeper into their worlds. Almost like a forbidden pleasure. "Kona" is a truly memorable experience. Its haunting atmosphere, intricate mystery, and unique blend of genres create a fun adventure.
