I know this is sorta the wrong place for this but this bug is also happening on Xbox One as well

I found a new fix for this - On PC at least

I thought it was just an error with the pipboy skin or something,
After I tried everything mentioned in this before and nothing worked i tried to get a hair cut and realized i was in power armour still - despite being able to sleep still - I only found out i was in armour when speaking to NPCs.

Anyhoo.. my fix.


I had picked up an item 'Power armor frame Atomcat' that I had attached to suit of power armour and got into.



After I realised that It must have something to do with power armour and that was a wierd item with 0 weight I traveled to another set of armour (luckily I could fast travel with my phone app).

♣ Took off all my clothes.. In game.
♣ I entered into a suit of armour (whatever i had lying about).
♣ Unequipped 'Power armor frame Atomcat' via inventory on my app (it didnt show up til i got in).
♣ Traded the 'Power armor frame Atomcat' with my companion (it seemed to have multiple instances of the same item).
♣ Got out and put my normal clothes back on..

♥ Ta daa.... \o/ Pipboy is back and fully functional.


I hope this works for some of you guys, im guessing the 'Power armor frame Atomcat' is a bugged item and shouldnt be lootable.

PM me if you need any more help but I cant imagine il be helpful beyond what I mentioned here :)

I had the same issue with the Atomcat power frame. Once I took it from the power armor inventory, I could get in and out of the power armor without experiencing the pip-boy glitch.

I fixed this problem by looking up the item base id number for the pip boy and using the console command to equip it.

I have none. All my saves take place after this bug because I was trying to fix it. The only save file I have before the bug took place was when I left the vault. I've already spent over 24hrs in-game so I don't want to redo everything I've done.

Being a Fallout 4 Veteran.. . I always manually create saves every once in a while... But I also that the invisible pip-boy bug, too... the only real way of clearing it is to go back to a previous save point.

thats not true

looks like it is an item you wear.
!! For me unequip my "chamaeleon" armor piece fixed the pipboy. !!
Equip it again and the bug is back.

You just fixed my problem. . . thank you soooooo much! I've been reading/watching so many ways to try to fix my problem (which I've been having for a two weeks) and now I don't.

I found a youtube video that had a fix in the description. This is the only version of the fix that worked for me. Its like the ultimate version of the 'powerarmor unequip fix'

I dont know if it matters, but I made sure I was nude at the time I did this.

Equip then remove all the available power armors:

My fix was get into power armor open pib boy close get out drop all clothing and armor get back in to power armor open pib boy again get back out and open your pib boy

Enter Power Armor
player.removeitem 001909D6 (untill item count = 0)
Exit Power armor
Player.removeitem 00021B3B
(This is pip-boy item code from base game, remove untill itemcode = 0)

FIXED.

I came across this bug after the DLC while trying to move my power armour to red rocket and I guess the power armour was just buggy im not sure if its all power armour or not ...but I just wenht back to a save where I had the pip boy back ....although I will use the console command to equip the pip boy and see if that works so that I wont have to go back (although I didn't have to go that far back it was still a pain) but thanks to all of you again
