How to play short-range deities
Good afternoon, Smiters.
'Tis I again, God of Noobs. Here's my question: why is it when I play a short-range character, it moves like molasses, but when the ENEMY plays as a short-range character, it's blitzing me like the Flash?
My team just got owned a couple of minutes ago...and I'm honest enough to admit that my 14-or-so deaths didn't help the matter. Of course, I was playing as Morgan Le Fay, who has no dashes that she can use to flee a dire situation.
Still, I've run into various problem in this game where it feels like everybody but me knows how to play it, and using short-range characters effectively is one of those problems. Hence, I stick to mages and hunters.
Any advice?
Best to you and your loved ones.

GEAR GEAR GEAR - look at what their items are; there are items that slow and items that make immune to slow and items that speed up.
It's not just one thing always.
Also, your opponents are either hard AI bots or some trolls/smurfs who got banned on their higher-level accounts. There is really no moderation over who can download and play the game.
Can advise you to fall back, don't chase into fights, engage only after you actually have more than three/four pieces of gear and IT IS OKAY TO 'RUN AWAY' - also defense items help if you want to outlast, damage over time is better than damage that never gets to be done because you die too fast.

Thank you for your advice. Every bit helps.

First off, thier is no such thing as a short range character, you can choose from melee and ranged, thats it. Second, a commonly used item in most mage builds is Charons Coin, which under conditions gives movement speed. Third her ability called Shroud of the Wildfire also gives movement speed. You will continue to be outplayed and confused until you take the time to read and understand the god you choose to play, passives and all.

Morgan is not a short range
Her 1, 3 and Ult can be used at long and medium range with skill
Usually I save the 2 for self-peel since it has CC

Forgive me if I phrased my argument imprecisely. King Arthur's basic attack is a sword-swipe. Olorun's basic attack is a magical blast that can travel quite farther than Arthur's sword-swipes. This is what I mean by "short-range" versus "long-range." Special abilities are a different matter.
Thank you for your other advice. Admittedly, Olorun's the only god I had massive experience with (got him up to 1000 worshipers, "mastering" him). But even with him, I'd get slaughtered by characters who could move way faster than I could if I played them. And I NEVER figured out how to make an Olorun build that was any better than what the game would auto-purchase for me.
I know I'm missing things. I'm just not sure what. But I appreciate your help.
Best to you and your loved ones.
Good afternoon, Geardo.
Oh, I'm aware Morgan Le Fay isn't short-range. But as I said in my original post, she got slaughtered by deities who, If I played them, would move nowhere near as quickly as when my enemies played them. This is the source of my confusion.
But thank you for your insight.
Best to you and your loved ones.
