grew up on this game and its a fun one I will come back to when I need a chill time with pirate adventures.

I have owned this game on multiple platforms and both here and dvd rom. I have always enjoyed this game and I think it's still what a Pirate game should be. Personally think this is the best one available to play, even with the new MMO other crappy ones out. This one is still by far the gold standard. Wish they would make a sequel in the same style as Sid Mejer's Pirates. Great game.

I hate to leave a bad review because I love Civ and many people consider this game a classic and one of the best pirate games of all time.

I have to disagree sadly as I had high hopes for this game because there are basically no good pirate games and I thought this would be the one.

My problem with the game is that it is too simple and pretty easy as well. There isn't much strategy needed here. Sure you can strategize how to make the maximum gold, but its not a nessesity because you can make alot of gold doing just about anything. And there is nothing to spend the gold on either, ship upgrades are cheap and very limited, and theres barely a point to have multiple ships since you can only use 1 in combat at a time.

You don't really get to make any strategic decisions other than where you want to sail and in the end it doesn't matter much regardless.

I feel like this game has tons of potential if they added just a bit more complexity, but as is its rather simple and boring.
