FFXIV Steam Community Forum Rules and Guidelines
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Steam forums of FINAL FANATSY XIV! Most, if not all of you, are probably already active users of other steam communities, and as such you know about many of the functions.

What can the reactions to violations of the rules and guidelines be?
We may lock or delete threads, or delete posts, among others.

Please note that some actions may result in instant and permanent exclusion from the community, for instance posting about RMT (Real Money Trade) sites, offering/seeking FFXIV accounts for real money, discussion of private servers, botting software, etc. – any experienced gamer should be aware of these taboos even without knowing the exact rules of a specific forum.

Any of the rules below are in addition to the Steam Community Guidelines, which you can find here.
  • Do not abuse the rules to try and get rid of users you do not get along with, for instance by means of repeatedly reporting posts despite them not breaking any of the rules outlined either here or in the Steam Community Guidelines. Example: Another user is not harassing you by stating an opinion that differs from yours.
  • Do not post about software or services violating the FINAL FANTASY XIV Terms of Service[support.na.square-enix.com] (Private Servers, RMT, Botting programs, etc.)
  • Do not create topics unrelated to FINAL FANTASY XIV
  • Do not spam – in addition to the rough definition by the Steam guidelines: Please combine individual replies in a single post, do not post meaningless characters, white space, do not repeat the same message within the same or across several threads, etc.
  • Keep discussions civil and friendly. Any form of insults, discrimination, slander, harassment, hate speech or the like will not be tolerated. Please note that words filtered by Steam (displayed as hearts), if easily deducible from context, can still be reason for temporary or permanent exclusion from the community.
  • Do not post about commercial, business, advertising, political, or religious matters.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, post security issues, exploits or similar materials. Please follow the guidelines available here and report them through our customer support instead.

Please note that active moderation will start on Monday, the 21st of March, 2016. If you are unsure if you might have been reported by other users recently for any of the above, now would be your chance to check your recent posts!
