As for the new RWBY: Grimm Eclipse update, we ran into a few snags with compatability issues between the older version of Unity that was used to create the game and the version used in the outset to create the new DLC (which caused some bugs, ie the dark screen that was patched when the Unity version was rolled back.) This created a few additional complications with our port and a lot of work for our dev team and third party partners on top of trying to balance this against our other projects. We are happy to tell you the new content should be available to consoles this upcoming month! Once we flip the switch on PS4 and Xbox One, we will also be rolling out the new game mode on all three platforms!

It's been a wild ride and lots of learning, juggling priorities and growth for our team. We are SO excited to FINALLY put this in your hands and are very grateful to everyone who has shown as so much patience, understanding, and support.

It's been far too long, fellow hunters. A lot has changed around Rooster Teeth Games since last we spoke. Our development team has more than doubled, we have a publishing branch (Bendy and the Ink Machine), and, more specific to this post, we brought on a focused community manager! I’ve been given the opportunity to move over to lead the charge on all of our board game efforts (Million Dollars, But..., Achievement Hunter HEIST). Your ol’ pal Skilltacular will still be around, lurking in the forums occasionally dropping hints about the unfound easter egg. I’ve truly enjoyed chatting with you all off and on for the past 3+ years. It’s been a good ride so far and it’s only getting better!

Hello Rooster Teeth Community! My name is Cricket, and I’m the new RTGames Community Manager. I’m so thrilled to be joining the amazing community management team and, most importantly, getting a chance to serve you.

I remember seven years ago sitting at home in Alaska at -52 degrees fahrenheit listening to the RT Podcast and deciding on the fly to move to Austin. Never could I imagine that a year and a half later I would find myself in Austin- working toward my dream of working at Rooster Teeth. And today here I am.

First, I’d like to let you know a little bit about myself. Growing up as an Army Brat, I spent a lot of time traveling growing up and living in the European Union and United States. Eventually, my parents settled in Alaska, which is where I spent most of my teenage and young adult years. Like many people who grew up in northern climates, I love playing winter sports and winter activities: ice hockey, skiing, snowmachining, snowshoeing, and geocaching. I love live music, film, and most importantly- I love gaming.

Gaming communities really have been my home for as long as I can remember. No matter how many times I have had to pick up and start a new life in a new city or country, the memories I have created and friendships forged in online communities has been the single most important constant in my life. Gaming has helped me transcend language barriers and make friends in unlikely situations, like the time I spent playing Final Fantasy VIII with Italian-only speaking kids at a dinner party- and the time I met one of my best friends on Reddit while looking for a roommates to live with here in town. Gaming has also spared me from spending many cold winter days and nights alone. No matter where I go, my love of games has given me a sense of belonging and community.

Before coming on board here with Rooster Teeth, I spent several years working in games and social media community spaces with over 35 independent contracts on the books, managing everything from communities to events and digital marketing for indie, VR/AR, and AAA games. I’ve worked with special interest groups to promote diversity and workforce development in games and participated in dozens of online gaming communities ranging from flourishing MMOs to obscure indie puzzle games. I’ve built and managed social platforms for hundreds of small businesses across the Americas. Now I have a chance to work with some of the best community leaders in online and gaming spaces, and I can’t even begin to tell you what a privilege that is.

My commitment to you is to champion the community voice and help lift up your ideas, perspectives, and aspirations. I’ll do my part to promote a space that is inclusive, welcoming, respectful, and fun. I’m so excited to get to know all of you more, and I hope you’ll join me for community game nights (in person and online), to learn about our future gaming projects as they grow, and most importantly: to share our mutual love of gaming in all of its wonderful forms!

It’s been a little while since our last update, but it’s great to see so many folks still active in the forums and itching for news. This is a short update, but it’s an important day for RWBY:GE, so we wanted to pop in and say hello.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the release of RWBY: Grimm Eclipse. To celebrate the anniversary and to say thank you to our amazing community, we have a small announcement - we’ll be releasing Steam Trading Cards, Backgrounds, and Emoticons! These have been requested many times before and many times we said “we’d love to...someday.” Well, check your calendars, because ‘someday’ is soon! Actually, “soon” is when they get approved by Steam (so, legit soon).

As many of you know, Grimm Eclipse was born from a fan project of the same name by the extremely talented Jordan Scott. Since his time with Rooster Teeth, Jordan has been busy on a project of his own, Arbiter. Jordan’s new game is currently live on Kickstarter. Swing by the campaign to support and share his awesome new project. He’ll even be demoing at RTX in Booth 646!

We know that you’ve been running around Remnant for far too long in the same old outfits, so we’re happy to announce that our new costume packs will be available this Friday!

As mentioned in our last news post there are a total of 4 costume packs, and here’s what they look like in all their glory!

You may remember these outfits being worn in such memorable episodes as “The Badge and the Burden (Volume 1, Episode 9)[roosterteeth.com] and “Dance Dance Infiltration (Volume 2, Episode 7)[roosterteeth.com]. I’m sure many of you remember the good old days of the original Gameboy. That grey brick of wonder. Those tones of green. The tinny bleep bloop soundtracks. Ah, those were the days.

Super Rad Raygun is the story of a robot named Rad who finds himself in the middle of the American-Russian Cold War conflict in the year 198x. The game, in ultra sharp 144p resolution graphics and 4 unique shades of monochrome off-green, takes a tongue-in-cheek look back to the pop culture and politics of that era as Rad follows the orders of President Ronald Reagan and slowly learns that politics are a little more complicated than they seem.


Super Rad Raygun is a follow-up to the Xbox Live Indie Game, Rad Raygun. Rad Raygun must save the 1980s from communist robots! While the original Rad Raygun had only five levels and limited upgrades, Super Rad Raygun includes over twenty levels, a new upgrade system, and a limited-energy mechanic.


Saving the ‘80s from communist robots sounds like it will require a helidrop into the jungle!

Super Rad Raygun is from our friends a Tru Fun Entertainment. Being brought to us by a passionate team of two, this labor of love makes countless nods to that colorful themes of the 1980s. From video games, to music, to pop culture, Super Rad Raygun will hit you hard in the nostalgia bone. Even the cover art is an homage to one of the game’s old school gaming inspirations.
Super Rad Raygun is the first game to launch under the Rooster Teeth Games publishing banner. There will be more in the future, but for now, check out and support this great retro platformer! Game on!


While this was not a RWBY related post, we’re proud of the Tru Fun crew and wanted to share our excitement with all of you. However, this Saturday at 8AM CST, Rooster Teeth will be kicking off their annual Extra Life event. Rooster Teeth Games has been waiting for this event to share a new bit of RWBY: Grimm Eclipse news. The RT Games crew should be on around noon (CST), but, if you’re familiar with how RT rolls with these events, that time slot could change.
