Barkeep, working on getting 8 heroes
Ah, so that's how you get it, how very "extra helpful" ;) of you.
I didn't think the Crusade bonus was worth it much, so I'd just been doing Conversions. I figured the Achievement was something like 5000 Conversions, but 250 Crusades is relatively easy by comparison.
In addition to that, it is not 100% certain that it is even possible to hire 9 heros since the research topic clearly says "up to 8".
As I have written above I can confirm that it is NOT unlocked by hiring 8 heros. I am still far away from getting the "Hire 1000 heros" achievement so that could be it. However I am kind of doubting it...
That means I am out of ideas. I most probably won't try to farm 500k glory since that will probably take a year and seems even more unrealistic than everything i tried until now.
hey man, looks like we're the only people still playing this game.
i'm currently trying to get in touch with a guy who has the achievement to ask him how he did it.
According to SteamHunters[steamhunters.com] 2 people have the achievement. I have tried to contact both but no luck yet.
Unfortunately it is not possible to obtain this achievement without modifying the games code, but since even with the modification you still need to meet the requirements of the achievement, in my eyes it is acceptable to do so.
It also gave me a chance to take a look into the code in other aspects.
I found a small (and probably REALLY dirty) workaround to bring back offline production somehow. I did not check it in detail. But I gave it several tries, checked for intervals of 10 secs and tried to find a value to bring somehow a good result. I will post it in the other thread, maybe it helps some others as well (or they even like to improve it further).
And to you: Thank you again, without you I wouldn't have found this!! :)
It is a shame, when broken/unfinished games are abandoned by their developer!
Yeah, it's really a pity. Especially when it's a game you like. But who knows what's going on behind the scenes... but I absolutely understand you, it's nasty when you are aiming for 100% and it's not possible because of some broken game code... :-/
