Report a translation problem
The simplest way to get started editing your anims' genes is to export them and then drag the exported Creature Card into an image editor, change the pixels at the bottom (those encode the genes), save it, and drag it back into the game.
Most edited creatures will be non-viable and die, but with repeated experimentation you may start to have more success.
As far as naming, it's one of many features I would like to add, but not all of those features will eventually make it into the game. It depends on popularity and complexity and how much it affects existing game play. I will raise this feature's priority though!
Right now I'm working on a possible new tree-like life form based on L-systems...

Also, is there an option to "turn off" the zomboids? I just want to farm in peace.. but they wont stay in their house :(
