I just want a mod to improve the camera and maybe a bonus of some relighting

Just installed Stainless Steel today. I've noticed that all units have 1 extra soldier in them for some reason, no matter if I change the unit scale or not. Is this supposed to happen? Seems super odd... For example, just launched a France campaign with normal unit scale. Starting crossbowmen have 61 units, spearmen have 76....

I've been trying to play more factions but I just don't have the option to play factions. It seems like I am stuck on the default ones? Am I doing something wrong with this?

I've tried many mods in this game, and i believe we have a bunch of mods who are quite popular and well known like DaC, SS/SSHIP, tsardoms...etc. But i want more! So i was wondering if anyone could suggest me a mod that is sort of underrated or not known enough even tho it's good. Have a nice day generals :)....
