Save Files & Log Files

If you have trouble loading a save file, you can restore an older save. In the "Load Screen" next to the save slot, press "Restore". The game autosaves in the background and keeps the recent saves. This will allow you to go back to an earlier point in time.

If this doesn't work, you can also send your save file to support@manifold.garden. Be sure to attach your log file as well.

Here's where you can find your save files:

For Windows:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\William Chyr Studio\Manifold Garden\Saves

The saves should be named:

SaveSlot1.data
SaveSlot2.data
SaveSlot3.data

and so on.

The Settings.txt, Player.log, output_log.txt files can be found in

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\William Chyr Studio\Manifold Garden

The restore feature seems to be broken — I can only seem to access one backup per save slot.

It's also a mild shame the game doesn't autosave upon quitting (either to the main menu or to desktop). I thought for a brief sec that this was bugged.

We'll take a look at this. On PC, the game should be autosaving every 5-10 minutes and it should keep at least 6 or so of the most recent saves in the "Restore" section.

This was intentional. It was mainly so that you can save at a certain point and then do something else (that you don't want to save), and quit without having it overwritten.

The autosave is saving in places that I don,t want to save, like in the middle of a stairway or in front of a wall, etc.. The manual save should save at critical points so that when playing ahead , if a mistake was made the next day, you could go back and play from that point. I saved at a critical point, it would Not save . It was Gone when I tried to access it.
