"SENSOR UPGRADE" Banner does not disappear
I got the scanner resolution upgrade but the banner announcing this would never disappear. Even quiting and resuming would not fix this. Anybody knows how to get rid of it? It is quite annoying!

I had this same issue using a controller; I unplugged the controller & used my mouse to scan, then the bar went away. Plugged my controller back in, and it kept working just fine, and future upgrade banners went away per normal after I did them for the first time.

Same here, I have it on my screen all the time. Doesn't disappear after loading the game either...

"work-around": if you reach the next level, you can then use the "Select level" entry from the game menu. The next level will load without the annoying banner.
