If you're unfamiliar with the Zero Escape series, it consists of three games that are fantastic visual novels featuring an intriguing story, great puzzles that are essentially escape rooms, and well-developed characters.

This is the first two games, which are:
999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
and Virtue's Last Reward (VLR).

999 feels like the one with more horror, but VLR's story is more interestingly complex. Also, 999 has great 2D graphics f for the characters, while VLR made the jump to 3D. I feel like the 3D graphics look a bit dated, but I think it's just a product of it's time so it's ok.

I played them when they were originally on the DS and the 3DS. The addition of voice acting in this remaster was great. However, I think the only downside is that 999, the first game, made clever use of dual screens for storytelling, which is lost in this version. This results in the final puzzle of that game being changed completely to something that I think doesn't fit at all.

IM SO INSANE. This game has made my life so much better in so many ways. From mindblowing plottwists, to fun puzzles, i highly recommend this game. The suspense (and very entertaining dialogue) make this a dream for a lot of visual novel fans!

Now im speaking out of bias, as i LOVE LOVE LOOOVE psychological horror/mystery VNs but this has been one of the best games i've experienced and had the enjoyment to replay all together. I've shown this to so many friends and it's always the similar reaction of how well made and well written this game is.

One of the best visual novel experiences I've played.

Excellent ports of two of the greatest games ever made. Unfortunately the final puzzle in 999 had to be altered due to hardware limitations, but otherwise everything is perfect. The new voice acting for 999 is great.
