Basegame costing money does not necessarily mean it is not worth it. I do not expect it to cost more than basegame of The Sims 3 at full price which is only $20.
Speak for yourself.
We have all the paid sims games and dlc (sim tower, sims 1,2,3,4 life stories loaded on w10 and running beautifully. No need to rebuy anything, but if EA were to give sims 1 &2 for free, with bug fixes, I gladly take them off their mucky paws.
What's with you people? Of course you'd have to pay again. These remasters require a lot of work to be optimized for newer systems, especially Sims 1, which was killed by a Windows 11 update and takes a million hacks to get to work. Your generation wanting everyone for free is why companies are cutting corners all the time and catering to whales.
They're not giving anything for free, nor should they, unless you want your experience at the hands of a third party client that blocks you from playing the game unless you're logged into an account, and is riddled with trackers that sends all of your info to shady companies.
I never owned The SIms 2 and was only 10 years old when The Sims (2000) first came out. I also did not have have that much money during 2004 when The SIms 2 first came out even though I was technically speaking old enough to play The SIms 2 upon release where I was not really old enough yet to be considered financially independent such as for example needing to save enough money combined with my two brothers to buy our first computer (although my older brother paid at least half of the expenses for new computer) instead of having a computer of my own until I started going to college. I remember briefly playing The Sims or The SIms 2 from a friends house a long time ago that took place only once, but I never actually owned any of those games.
GoG release would be fair, a lot more than Steam
Probably early afternoon Eastern Time Zone if I had to take a guess. It is just strange that the countdown disappeared from Schluppdidupp's link. It is strange that the countdown disappeared, because I do not see The SIms 2 and The Sims yet from the store on Steam. Just be patient, because they should be coming very soon today. It would be embarrassing for EA if they do not fulfill their promise and would make them look bad if these games were to be cancelled or delayed.
