It's too gentle.

It's too weak.

The learning curve of this game is simply far too generous. It doesn't help that the early tasks are slow to complete even running the game at maximum speed, while posing next to no risk or threat. The gameplay of the campaign is sleep-inducing.

Even when the scenarios start to become more challenging, the game is hampered by numerous strange decisions that add arbitrary steps to completing and managing tasks. There just isn't an incentive to play this over other, better, city management and colony management games.

I went into Aven Colony hoping that it might provide a unique alternate flavor or take on the management style of Frostpunk, or provide an original colony building experience I hadn't seen before. Instead, this just feels like a dull, uninspired version of Frostpunk that's nearly impossible to fail at yet still takes forever to accomplish anything in.

It might be slightly more enjoyable as a screensaver.

But recently got a new pc, installed the game, tried to play it; crashed 3 times.
Even uninstalled and reinstalled, and keeps crashing. No crash log or anything to help me either.
