Valve Index Controller support is live!
Hi Folks,

With Batman Day quickly approaching we hope you’re getting ready to celebrate the day of everyone’s favourite caped crusader. As of this year, the Dark Knight has been protecting Gotham from its worst inhabitants for 80 years!

His legendary repertoire of gadgets and methods to fight crime have grown so much since his debut in 1939. For those us who are joining him today in bringing the criminals of Gotham to justice, we’re making sure that you too have access to all the latest and greatest tools and gadgetry.

From today, Batman: Arkham VR offers full support for the Valve Index Controllers so you too can use the latest VR tech to tackle crime in Gotham.

New Features
  • Added Support for the Valve Index Controllers
    • This will include updated on-screen icons, controller images, text and audio.
  • Implemented OpenVR Mesh
    • Some users may notice a small performance increase
If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to let us know.

very cool that you guys have updated this after almost 2 and a half years, i never would have expected to see proper index support in an older title like this.

i cant help but wonder however, adding in index support and updating openVR after all this time...could it be you guys are working on another batman game? or possibly something else on the same engine?

you guys did an incredible job with arkhamVR considering it was a relatively early VR title, i would be really excited to see what you could do with more experience under your belt, perhaps more resources, and taking into account some of the advances that have taken place in VR gaming.

I bought this a few months ago and never played it more than a few minutes. Now I have a good reason to go back in and give it a proper try.

I'm on WMR. Just bought the game for my nephew. The WMR bindings no longer work. Looking at the binding UI for steamVR, there is no bindings for the controller. When I try to create a binding, I get this strange message...

#BINDINGGUI_BINDINGTYPE_UNDEFINED FOR WINDOWS MIXED REALITY CONTROLLER IN BATMAN ARKHAM: VR

First game out of over a hundred that I own that did not work for WMR out of the box. My guess is that Index Controller support might of broke something. I checked an it use to work with WMR.

This is machine translation. My English is not good. I have the same problem.

I'll need to try this again tomorrow - but I had a serious issue with the Index Controllers where the right hand/controller just disappeared as soon as the game loads. The button functionality (tap A etc) still works - but only the left hand is visible.

Weirdly I thought I'd get stuck playing one handed when I got to the Suiting Up scene - where you have to put both hands in the machine to get gloves (the right arm in the mirror was completely motionless and vertical) but instead when I put the left hand in the machine it acted as if I'd done both, so the game was compensating for only one hand somehow.

For what its worth I was playing with Steamlink on, streaming to a second monitor so I might try again without the Steam Link active. My headset is an original HTC Vive. Anyone else have this issue?

Add me to the WMR victims.

I played this with my Vive, and just bought an HP Reberb and this was the 1st game that i was looking forward to experiencing in higher resolution.

I too am stuck on the `Choose standing or sitting mode` screen. I am holding WMR controllers in real life, and I am seeing Vive controllers in-game, but not a single button is doing anything.

It seems like the game tracks my HMD's orientation, as it seems to recognize when I am looking at the standing icon or the seated icon.

Will there be a fix, or am I restricted to only playing this game on my Vive...???
oculus rift S victim here ... the game needs to be fixed ASAP !

Hi Folks,

I've just posted a workaround for those using WMR headsets and having trouble progressing in the game.

Valve Index Controller Support is great.
However, in the Index headset, there is a problem with the parallax of (japanese) subtitle and I cannot read it.
When I played with Vive before, the parallax of the subtitles was correct.

I have the HTC Vive, and recently encountered this problem also. All my other games work fine. I have not found a solution yet. Maybe it's linked to an update? I have not changed hardware or added anything (like foam or covers) to my headset.

The only fix that worked for me was a clean Win 10 install. Nothing here worked for me.
