Random Crashes.
Hi all.

I'm a returning early access player, now that 1.0 is out.
Fresh install from Epic, everything is good. Sort of.

I get these random crashes, and freezes.

First thing i did, was to search the forums, for suggestions.
I've tried:

1. Lower the graphics settings.
2. Run in fullscreen.
3. Force Dx11 ingame.
4. Force DX11 through launcher command.
5. Updated graphics drivers TODAY.

This is what i get on a crash:

I'm running the game on this hardware:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ stock speed (no OC)
32GB DDR4 3200Mhz.
1TB MVMe M.2 , Corsair MP600.
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Eagle OC - 12GB GDDR6X @ stock.

Do any of you have any more suggestions, to what to try, or do i just wait it out, until a fix is released?

Hi, do you get those crashes with forced DX11?
I encountered the same issue, for me changing to DX11 helped, but i have to live with worse graphics :(
Yes, i have been running on ingame Dx11 setting since the first few crashes.
Changed to forced Dx11 in launcher 2 days ago.

I've been playing for about 5 days, and had about 8-10 crashes so far.

Edit. I've JUST tried, disabling DLSS and see if it helps.
Edit 2: I'm 9 hours and 14 minutes into my game. That's about 1 crash per hour.

Ok, that´s odd. I also limited my FPS to 60 and changed the overall graphics setting to medium or high, but the one thing that really helped was DX11... Which is sad if you got a really good machine and have to miss out on quality. I recently updated my graphics driver but chickened out on changing back to DX12 because thoses crashes REALLY annoy me.
So to summarize:

I forced DX 11
Settings to medium/high for quality
Cloud, foliage and shadows to low/medium
Since then i could play for 8 hours straight without a single crash.
Maybe it was a heat problem for me, because i use a gaming laptop und this game runs hot on maximum settings.
I also have Dx11, Medium srttings and capped FPS to 60.
So far, without DLSS it runs.. for how long, i don't know.. yet.

Edit: It seems stable so far, this session with DLSS off, had no issues.

I'll return if it starts crashing again.

Session lasted about 30 mins or so.

PC temps seems fine.
CPU max temp is 54, H150i pro coolant temt is 31, gpu temps are 48, 58 and 56, nvme's is both 46 and psu is 41.

Delete Windows temp files, clear GPU Cache and DirectX Cache...run DirectX Runtime Installer
...and let the game files getting checked and disable all mods.

Important BIOS Update for Intel 13th/14th Gen CPU Users Facing Game Crashes

Hi everyone,

If you’re experiencing frequent crashes or instability while running games like Satisfactory and you own a 13th or 14th Gen Intel processor, you might want to check if your motherboard's BIOS is up to date.

Intel has released a new microcode update (version 0x129) addressing issues with elevated voltages and instability, which can cause crashes during gaming or other high-load tasks. After updating my BIOS on an MSI Z790 Tomahawk with an i9-13900KF, I saw a significant improvement in stability, and the crashes stopped completely.

To resolve these issues, check your motherboard manufacturer’s website for the latest BIOS updates and ensure you have the version that includes the 0x129 microcode.

Feel free to ask if you need help with this!

Yea...100 posts about the 13th/14th Gen BIOS update...but thanks for #101
I just did the above suggestions about the gpu/directx cache etc.
Rebooted my pc, launched the game, and it lasted about 10 minutes, and then it crashed. :(

You can try this:

***Save your .sav files and blueprints.***....from here: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames

Uninstall the game

Delete this folder here: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\FactoryGame

Re-install the game...start a new save and see how it runs before you load your saves.
It was a fresh install for 1.0, and a new save.
And it's been present since day 1. :(

Did you delete your FactoryGame folder here: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\FactoryGame ?

Important step if you didn't do it.

Please do. I still get those crashes, even with dx11 forced, this really kills the game for me (literally)
