I think drill heads shouldn't be rocket exclusive... ex: deep drill can use some of them and normal mining drills can potentially use basic ones as well.
You could play this without programming, by my gosh you wouldn't have time to do a lot of things, especially with power generation.
Obviosly anything less basic be that a smart storage, automated supply or some three-way airlock likely will need some 'programming' (personally I'm fond of making a gas buffer and filter control program that rises pressure prior to filters, uses filters in bursts to minimize work time for filters instead of letting filters work 24/7 at low pressure thus saving power and filter's durability yet having same throughput).
