Hi All,

We are Red Candle Games, and thank you guys for supporting our game Detention!

After Detention is out, we received messages from some great fellows, offering help to translate the game. For that, we are thrilled Detention is being localized into different languages, and we feel that their hard work cannot only known to us!

This thread is created as a co-sharing translation thread for people to
(a) share their translation works of Detention to others;
(b) download the translation file to better enjoy Detention in different languages.

Please keep in mind that all of these translation works take time and effort to create. As a courtesy of the translators, there are certain rules to follow.

Using Rules

The translation work is only for personal use. Please do not use it on any commercial purpose.
If you would like to share the translation file to other websites, do contact the translator and ask for the permission first. Or, simply refer this thread to others.
Please help us make this co-sharing thread works by respecting translator’s work.

Installation package contains style-friendly russian fonts and translation of all accesible textures. That requires a special tool to replace files in game assets, so we distribute our full instalation package with the said tool that allows players to do so instead of just .xls file. If you need translated files and/or .xls file, or have any questions/subjects to discuss, please contact us on contact@tolma4team.ru

Hello. What about custom fonts? I want to translate Detention to Polish but it'll look horrible without proper fonts. Red Candle, could you assist me with this one?

AE cidadãos do mundo em português, decidi traduzir isso aí. Mas é um monte de texto, não parece quando se está jogando... Acho que estou pela metade, mais um mês e terei o arquivo pt! Só vai ficar meio tupiniquim... Também vou precisar de ajuda para os ajustes finais, afinal estou traduzindo do inglês para o português e às vezes não sei se deve ser masculino ou feminino... mas vamulá!

Updating: I am working on a Brazilian Portuguese. I have translated all, but now the game won't run with the translated version anymore. I am replaceing the en.xml file in the folder 8_Translations as I did before, don't know what is missing.

Maybe I will need support from RedCandles on this, please.

I've had that too. Turns out I've had an extra cell that I filled. Also, make sure your xls file IS NOT LOCKED ie. opened in editor.

Hi! I tried with Bilazaurus tips but with still no success. But I miss a lot for tranlation and the user Rapu is now working on it, translating what is missing and revewing, so he might find something wrong. I think we will have a good pt translation for the community!

I am sharing the file with work in progress with you so you can try to find what's wrong but also try to prevent the hanging problem. Though the start up of the game might fail with some error message like "invalid file" and a log with details, but never just stop in a black screen leaving the player... in the dark!
