So it's not talking to the outside world great virus for 2024 then.
It will be a false positive because of the AV dev, Submit the game file to your AV company they will probably whitelist it.
Also, FYI, McAfee has let you down any time you get a false positive - like now for instance.
I can imagine your computer has almost no software on it...
And I am just spoiled to request from devs to solve problem on legal game i want to use without having to manage my antivirus.
Cool no problem (my comment was a joke, not meant to target or poke you directly). I am too 50+ year-old old school guy (but my first computer was a ZX80).
Anyway for your antivirus, due to FPs 'false positives' (where the software thinks it is a threat, but it isn't), you would need to get used to it. Finding out how to stop a FP is just like changing oil in your car - it's not convenient but you need to do it from time to time.
Mostly games are affected by FPs, and due to this game's popularity, if any FP turned out to be a real threat, we would have heard it by now (from people far more experienced than you or me).
I had my cup of fun with doing lot of that while i was playing hacked games, now if i pay for the game i would really appreciate plug and play experience. basic respect of devs to money i give to them.
And I do not have any previous experience on Steam with false positive games.
Everyone knows that Steam performs security checks before posting a game to the store. And Opus Magnum was posted long ago. (+5 years)
But yeah I agree, as mentioned there are some really good (perhaps from a security-background) players on Steam who are actively able to sniff out malware and viruses in packages (mostly to do with DRM crap from EA and Origin etc) and the huge number of players this game has it should be evident from a simple forum search (keyword "Virus") that the few people who have encountered the lightning.exe issue, it was a nothing-burger.
