Remastered is locked to 60 FPS because that was one to the important upgrades specified for the port/remaster

So how did you get Remastered slowed down, or are you playing Prepare to Die Edition?

I'm playing Remastered. I didn't have this issue until after a steam update. Before the update i was playing the game normally.

The following steps may not completely fix the issue, but they can make the game playable:

1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Click on "Adjust Image Settings with Preview."
3. Move the slider to "Performance" instead of "Quality" and exit the panel.
4. Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings."
5. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Graphics settings."
6. Click "Browse" and select the Dark Souls.exe file.
7. Once added, click on it and select "Options."
8. Choose "Power saving" and click "Save."
9. Launch the game and lower all the graphics settings.
10. Other things worth trying is checking to see if border less or full screen works best for you in the settings. I also made sure I'm playing offline by logging out
