Dungeon Painter Studio

Dungeon Painter Studio

Dead Software?
Simple as the tile.
Has the development really just been abandoned without any notice to the users?

I think so. Too bad...it had potential.
That's not only sad, but angering.
They had a good idea with the 2.0 update.

But they just run away and disappeared.
Not even ONE news post saying they are abandoning it.
Srsly, this is so freaking frustrating :\

Hundred per cent dead, try dungeon draft

I mean, i got my bucks worth it. But however, the whole DPS2 thing was a bit weird

It's a shame, because I think DP1 is still much better than Dungeondraft and others in a lot of ways. The fact that everything is saved as an object in an agnostic manner inside a layers is so much better than all the madness that others are doing.

DP2 had some extremely interesting ideas. Should've just basically added those to DP1...

This program keeps crashing on me, and now I've lost 3 hours of work on a map that became save file errored. What a waste.

From what I understand, this was being developed by a single person. They either gave up on it, or something happened to make them unable to continue even posting updates.
This was supposed to be the software version, hence a better optimized and customizable experience from the Pyromancer's website.
But yeah the website too is dead basically.

The website give a "server not found" error now, and an ICANN WHOIS lookup shows that a Russian privacy service is listed as the registrant.

There could be a number of reasons for this, but simply, there's no more development happening here, and it looks like there won't be.
Yeah.
Sad, a silent death of a potential good software.
Personally i moved to Dungeondraft and Dungeon Alchemy with some hints of Photoshop
It may be a dead Software but it still has its uses, I tend to use to for world maps and visual aids for some of my players spells.

I didn't even this software was abandoned. Still going to use though like I have been.
Sincerely, with how buggy it is to me?
I prefer Dungeon Alchemist, or Dungeondraft.
I'm eyeing a new one on steam called Canvas of Kings specially for making towns.

Its just the way the cookie crumbles I guess, I am only here because I needed to design a dungeon (I know right who would have thought) for an upcoming 1 shot game I have soon.

Abandoned or not, the amount of times I have used this - I actually forgot I had it in the first place - I say fair enough the developer obviously has their reasons. Its sad but as I said, thats just the way the cookie crumbles.
