I am very new to the base game, but I did purchase all of the DLC. What would the experts recommend as first DLC to activate? Also, I cannot imagine activating all that DLC at once. That may take a year for me to do, but wondering about all the added complexity with all five DLC going? And then there are mods, Wow. Playing Chapter 4 of Carthage campaign, and can't figure out the conditions for the "take Hannibal over Alps" goal: whole Hannibal army is way past the Alps already, fighting in Italy, captured Corsica, besieging Rome etc, but the goal is still hanging there - could it be a bug, or am I missing something? Also, can I fix somehow at this point, or am I stuck with an unfinishable goal for the rest of the scenario? Maybe there's a specific tile I could put Hannibal in to trigger it or something?...

One of the things I really like about Civ 5 and 6 is the city-state mechanic. However, as near as I can tell, the tribes in this game appear to be just speed bumps that you're better of conquering both for the legitimacy bonus, to reduce raids and nab city sites before the AI. Diplomacy is extremely limited and outside of lucky random events to bump up your relations appears difficult. Am I missing something to make friends with them and direct their raids the AI's way? Thanks....

Wanting to get a good 4X game, the last one I enjoyed was Civ 5, around several years ago. Tend to get overwhelmed with a lot of decision making, or over complicated stuff. Though I don't mind taking time to learn, it has to "click" for me. Also, is the DLC worth it? At least for getting the complete edition....

Has anyone got any advice to deal with Civics costs that are destroying me? I had some free laws pass (trade league & philosophy) very early and I took them because I thought it would be a good way to get early strongholds. I'm turn 31 now and not really able to do much because my deficit is about -6 to -27 each turn.
