shortcut

I took the shortcut but the map was confusing not very intuitive, I heard her say thank you for going the short cut way, but then I found we were still too late and she was taken? can we reach her before it's too late?

It's supposed to happen like that. That character's own personal story-arc is dealing with that event and the aftermath.

Good to know because it's second choice that went the wrong way for me simply due to poor controls.

This scenario will end kind of badly, no matter which way you take. But if you take longer route you'll be blamed for the aftermath. And If you'll take shorter route, your efforts will be appreciated at least.
