Started the map as a settler but was not able to do anything because I was not able to get wood from anywhere. Do I HAVE to start the map as a woodworker?

Can taxation be a controllable option to be switched on or off ?? As real free individuals would trade goods without taxation. Yeah why is the farms soooooo slow on making money? Im always having to just farm and not able to own a second business like a mill to turn my flower into wheat and sell the better product. Any help on how to increase the money making of the farm?

Suggestion on how ownership limits are balanced from a progression standpoint: Given that there are currently a dozen types of production buildings and the production chains aren't more than a few steps long, as it stands the jump in ownership limits between the social classes is quite large.
