First time playing, are there any locations/visuals exclusive to the path you take?

First: I have not played yet, PLEASE do not spoil things. That out of the way, I've heard this game has several "paths", and I was thinking about playing the different paths on different versions (Original Myst, RealMyst, and 2021) since I'd have to replay anyways.

All I know is there's a father and two sons, I know nothing about them (nor do I want to yet), but I know there's 2 or 3 paths. Do these paths have much different between them? Are they like different games, or more like just different dialogue between steps and different endings? Is there much or any difference visually, would I miss anything by only doing one path per version I play?

Every path no matter how complicated leads you eventually back to the main island(somehow). Don't worry about messing something up you can fix it next time once you realize what that thing is and what the right settings should be. Meanwhile enjoy the view.
