Question

I'm missing something very very basic. I can place the bridge, but nothing ever gets built, there is no indication it is missing a path, or anything else for that matter. Can not connect it to anything. Just got to mission 3 and was somewhat disheartened that all my research from mission 2 reset and I have to do it all again. Is this a thing in all the campaign missions?

how do i get to the crashed ship on this level? a harbour warps hte little area so i cant do a path, and the steel bridges cant get the right height, and i dont see an area for train tunnels
