Denuvo?
Since this is on sale and I really enjoy soulslikes I was going to buy this, but then I noticed that the "Games That Hate You" curator has this marked as having Denuvo. Did they just forget to unmark this game or does it really still have Denuvo after so long?
I'm not going to buy it if it has Denuvo.

Still has Denuvo.

The store page is straight up false advertising then, the yellow warning of 3rd-party DRM is not there at all. Is the publisher responsible for the info on store page or is it Steam itself? Maybe this should be reported.

It has Denuvo and there are no known issues with Denuvo in this game.

What you should keep in mind if you get the game that will cause issues, though, is play at 60 FPS is ideal as above that can break some elevators and other occasional glitches. However, if you really insist you can play above 60 FPS but if you get to something that doesn't work properly just swap to 60 FPS, get past it, and move on.

If you check the EULA link on the store page, it does mention Denuvo. They aren't straight hiding it but if you don't are the kind of person who reads EULAs (AKA most people) you won't find it.

i thought they had to say on the store page. there's that rectancle box on the side that "supposed" to say "incorporates 3rd party DRM : Denuvo".. .

i'm glad i did not buy this, given that
it has Denuvo
reviews say "it's the worst game in the soulslike genre"
and apparently, namco bandai is pulling some shenanigans with fromsoftware and all of the online servers for all of the "souls" (ds1,2,3,elden ring) have been "down for maintenance" for months and people on the forums are saying that fromsoftware can't do anything about it until namcobandai gives them the go ahead. .

That's so slimy, 3rd-party DRM is supposed to have a warning straight on the store page, not hidden in some EULA. Is Valve aware of this?

wow, ya's are right. .it's in there all the way at the bottom

i just realized, i wonder how many other games in my library have Denuvo that i don't know about. . I mean, i have the south park games and those have it clearly marked on the store page and i never would have bought those if i knew then what i know now.

but on the subject of south park. .. 'member "Human CentiPad"? . .
nobody reads the EULAs , myself included and you never know what you're "agreeing" to

Check this curator, it's the one that warned me about Denuvo in this game:

huh, so fractured butthole and Dragon quest 11 are the only games on that list that i have . . .and WTF, i "KNOW" that the DQ11 game did not say Denuvo when i bought it. I was even on the forums, proclaiming how i was refusing to buy any squenix game that had denuvo and i bought the dq11 game to show them that i was willing to spend money with them as long as their games didn't have denuvo.
how the frig could i have not seen that?
I even installed it on my new laptop and played it for edit: 245 hours.
it's removed now, but apparently, Denuvo leaves crap behind. . .

Still not buying it, but thanks for the seething, it's satisfying.

It's kind of odd that people are so terrified of Denuvo that they wont by games they might otherwise enjoy. It would be one thing if it was causing problems with the game or your system but its not. The fear is incredibly irrational but its your loss. The game isn't amazing but it is a decent souls-like title. It has its good and bad parts.

remove the DRM I buy !

If the game is just "decent", there is even less of a reason to endanger your computer with Denuvo.

The fact that you believe Denuvo "endangers" your PC indicates you've gotten bad information about Denuvo and should do some research on your end as you clearly don't know how it works. It does not.
AsuraBG 27 Jul, 2022 @ 11:33pm
Something tells me that some people still wouldn't buy the game even if they remove Denuvo (or would follow if refund request) because it's not made by Daddy FromSoftware.

I swear, there is no other fan-base like from FromSoftware's, the only one who unironically have only ever played FromSoftware's video games.
