Freddi the Fish meets Castlevania

Seriously though, this game really feels like an adventure game with combat. How is it I haven't played this genre before? I even had a PS1 back when SotN was out!! T_T

I'm not criticizing, mind you. It's just an interesting, and (I think) unusual, choice.
