Humble Store page is with Linux support but the official page has only Windows.

There's no Linux support planned right now and the release will be Windows only. We'll let you know if that changes in the future :)

I started playing it through Proton, and I haven't had any compatibility problems!

(though I haven't tried using a controller.)

works right out of the box with latest version of Proton even the xbox controller works too!

I was going to buy it today if it ws available for the GNU operating system.

Considering games don't run on kernel, it must be a GNU-native release that we're talking about. The other OS that uses the same kernel is Android, which is irrelevant here.
